The modern home is situated on Monaghan Farm Estate North of Johannesburg. The house is designed as a single storey in order to minimise the visual impact to the horizon line. The layout is configured so as to ensure uninterrupted views into the surrounding landscape. 
 
The layout of the house is arranged around a series of courtyards which regulates the sequence of circulation, ensuring that no passages ways are without natural light. the courtyards not only ensure that all living spaces have natural cross ventilation, but also create the opportunity for an internal vista. 
 
The material palette of the house comprises natural or authentic materials, creating a sense of permanence which also  allows the building to age and weather naturally.

The articulation of the interior spaces were championed by the client, resulting in a wonderful balance of interior architecture & elegantly curated spaces.
